Event Overview
The Pi Day Challenge is a running and eating event that takes place on March 14. It occurs at Queen Anne's County 4-H Park in Centreville, Maryland.
Event Format
The event, described as a gastro-athletic challenge, combines speed eating with running or walking. Participants run a total distance of one mile. The mile is broken into four quarter-mile segments. Before each quarter-mile run, a participant must eat a piece of pie. This cycle is repeated four times, totaling four slices of pie and one mile. A participant must finish each piece of pie completely before beginning the next run segment. There is a penalty for vomiting, which results in an additional quarter-mile run.
