Phoenix Striders Summer Series Round 2
This event takes place on 19 May 2026 and is the second of five rounds in the Phoenix Striders Summer Series at the Essex Wildlife Trust Langdon Discovery Nature Park in Langdon Hills. The event is a 5k trail race composed of two laps of a 2.5 km circuit, with the start and finish located at the Discovery Centre.
Entry is available on the day at the same price as online. Posted fees for adults are £2.50 (affiliated) and £4.50 (unaffiliated); for under 18s the fees are £1.50 (affiliated) and £2.50 (unaffiliated). Discounted online prices apply before 18 May 2026 and a service fee of 4% (minimum 50p) is charged per sign-up. Minimum age is 12 years on the day.
Race numbers are collected at the Discovery Centre and toilets are available inside; there are no changing facilities. The Centre also sells gifts, snacks, hot and cold drinks and ice cream. Confirmation and parking details are sent by email if an address is supplied.
The event supports Essex Wildlife Trust and Brighter Outcomes for Special People (BOSP). The course is a country park trail and may include other park users, dogs, horses, tree roots, cobbles, mud, brambles and nettles. Marshals, a tailwalker and two first aiders with AEDs will be present. The race is held under a Trail Runners Association permit and England Athletics rules. Rules include no pushchairs, no dogs and no headphones except low volume bone conduction; results are timed manually. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
