Nuclear Rush
Nuclear Rush is an outdoor obstacle course race held on the Secret Nuclear Bunker Estate in Essex. The courses run across muddy farmland, woodland and lakes and include a mix of natural and man-made obstacles.
Two main adult distances are offered:
- 6 km - 40+ obstacles; age 13+ (13–15 require adult accompaniment)
- 12 km - 70+ obstacles; age 16+
Signature features on the permanent course include the 20 foot Deathslide, a Travelator and a 15 lane zip wire into water. Both distances use chip timing and include a finishers medal, free finisher photo, free bag drop and hot washdowns. Buoyancy aids are available for water obstacles and changing facilities and a free car park are provided.
Participants may skip obstacles without penalty, so sections can be attempted or bypassed at individual pace. The event also runs family and children formats called Family and Rookie Rush where children and adults tackle shorter, family oriented courses together.
The event village provides spectator areas with food, music and merchandise for visitors. The course accommodates group and team entries and can be used as a fundraising activity. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
