Nuclear Rush is a muddy outdoor obstacle race held on the Secret Nuclear Bunker Estate at Kelvedon Hatch, Brentwood, Essex. The courses run across farmland, woodlands and lakes on a permanent obstacle course that includes both natural and man made features.

Available distances:

• 6 km, approximately 40+ obstacles, muddy farmland, woodlands and lakes
• 12 km, approximately 70+ obstacles, extended course across varied terrain
• 1.5 km Rookie and family options for younger participants
• 3 km Rush Rookies for older children
• 4 km family course with more obstacles

Race features include chip timing, finishers medals, hot washdowns, changing facilities, buoyancy aids for water obstacles, free car parking, free finishers photos and a free bag drop. Signature obstacles listed for the course include the Deathslide (20 foot), Travelator and multi lane zip wires into water; some events also feature para plunge style zip lines. For most adult waves there is no penalty for skipping obstacles and participants may choose which obstacles to attempt. Certain junior categories include mandatory obstacles with specified penalties for non completion.

The site provides an event village where spectators can watch nearby action and find music, food, drinks and merchandise. Age limits vary by race category and some younger participants must be accompanied by a paying adult. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
