Nuclear Rush : event overview
Nuclear Rush is an outdoor obstacle course event held at the Secret Nuclear Bunker Estate in Brentwood, Essex. Courses run across farmland, woodlands and lakes with muddy terrain and a mix of natural and man-made obstacles. Races are chip timed and finishers receive a medal and a free finishers photo. On-site facilities listed include hot washdowns, changing facilities, buoyancy aids for water obstacles, free car parking and a free bag drop.
Race formats and key rules
- 6K: approx. 40+ obstacles, age 13+ (13–15 year olds require adult accompaniment)
- 12K: approx. 70+ obstacles, age 16+
- Oblivion - 38K+: lap format (1 lap = 12K), complete 4 laps for Oblivion medal, age 18+
- Rush Rookies - 1.5K: age 4+, 25+ obstacles
- Rush Rookies - 3K: age 9–14, 50+ obstacles
- Rush Rookies Pro - 3K: two laps, mandatory obstacles with burpee penalties if failed
- Rush Family - 1.5K: age 4+, 25+ obstacles
- Rush Family - 4K: age 10+, 35+ obstacles
Some race formats allow competitors to register as competitive or for personal completion. For competitive entrants in certain events there are compulsory penalty obstacles and banded identification; non-competitive entrants are not required to complete penalty tasks.
