Course and Format

The course is located along The Itchen Way in Winchester, crossing the Hockley Viaduct. It is a 2.62-mile out-and-back route described as "beautiful" and "smooth." The event uses a timed format where runners can choose their distance. The full time limit is 7 hours.

  • A single lap (2.62 miles) makes a runner a finisher.
  • Five laps equals a half marathon.
  • Ten laps equals a marathon.
  • Eleven or more laps is an ultra marathon distance. The course closes at 15:00.

Flexible Start and Registration

The official start time is 08:00, but the event offers flexible start times, allowing runners to start any time up until 13:00. Participants are advised to give themselves enough time to complete their chosen distance before the course closes. Places for the event are limited. The event cost is £31.95 for affiliated runners and £33.95 for unaffiliated runners.

The event base and start area is the Garnier Road Car Park in Winchester (SO23 9PA). Ample parking is available a short walk away at the St. Catherine's Park & Ride (SO23 9NP). Look for 'Area 5'. Parking charges apply on Saturdays; the all-day rate is £3.50, and the 3-hour rate is £1.80. Payment can be made via the Ringo app (location code 2547) or contactless payment. There is a well-stocked aid station that provides sweet and savoury snacks, including potatoes and vegan options. Every participant receives a bespoke finisher's medal.
