PORTSMOUTH 10km & 5km MCTF Run The Track
This event stages measured track races over two distances at Mountbatten Centre Athletics Track, Portsmouth PO2 9QA on Sunday 23rd August. Fields are deliberately small and heats are organised by expected finishing time so runners compete alongside similarly paced athletes on a standard athletics surface.
Racing uses personal split-lap chip timing to record each lap and overall chip timing for an accurate finish. Each finisher receives a bespoke medal created for the series. The track setting removes road hazards such as traffic and potholes and offers flat, consistent laps.
Entry information published for the event includes early-entry fees from £17 for the 5 km and £23 for the 10 km, a £2 levy for non UK Athletics members, and a 6% booking fee. Entries close on Saturday 22nd August. The event is organised as part of the Run The Track series by MacTuff Events and is presented as a focused track racing opportunity in late summer.
