The Itchen Valley Summer Challenge
The Itchen Valley Summer Challenge is a two-race summer series held at Itchen Valley Country Park in West End, Southampton. The two events take place on 9 July 2026 and 20 August 2026 on summer evenings and are organised as separate races.
Each event begins with a Junior 1 mile Dash, followed by adult races for 5km and 10km distances. Distances offered include:
- Junior 1 mile Dash
- 5 km
- 10 km
Race 1 (9 July) is titled Twilight Run and is described as an evening run as the sun begins to set. Race 2 (20 August) is titled SunSet Run and is described as a festival-inspired event to close out the summer.
Each race requires a separate entry; combined entries are available for both race dates for the Junior Dash, 5km and 10km. Competitors who complete both races are eligible for an exclusive prize. Ticket information states that bibs must be worn to access the race and that ticket holders should arrive at least 30 minutes before the start; late arrivals cannot be accommodated.
