The Itchen Valley Summer Challenge
The Itchen Valley Summer Challenge is a two-race summer series held at Itchen Valley Country Park in West End, Southampton. Each event takes place on a summer evening and includes a short junior race followed by adult races.
Distances offered:
- Junior 1 mile Dash
- 5 km
- 10 km
Each event begins with the Junior 1 mile Dash, followed by adult races for ages 15 and over. The two events in the series are listed as Race 1, called the Twilight Run on 9 July, and Race 2, called the SunSet Run on 20 August. Entries are sold per race; there are also combined tickets that cover both events. Competitors who complete both races are eligible for an exclusive prize.
The event information notes requirements for race access: athletes must wear a racing bib to take part and bib collection is arranged on site. Late arrivals cannot be accommodated. The organiser offers separate ticket types for single races and for entry to both dates. The setting is a country park, and the races are scheduled as evening community running events.
