Event Format
Phoenix Fridays is a series of Friday running events with flexible start times. Runners can choose their own start time within a window, a format described as "rock up and run." The events are smaller in size and have a lower entry fee compared to the organizer's weekend events.
The Course
The event uses a timed format on a 5.3km (3.28 mile) out-and-back course along the River Thames. The terrain is a riverside towpath, which is an off-road trail. The course is flat with no elevation gain or loss.
Participation
Runners choose their own distance by completing laps. The minimum distance is one lap (3.28 miles). There is a 7-hour time limit to complete as many laps as desired, allowing for distances from 5km up to an ultra marathon. All finishers receive a medal.
Medals
A selection of the organizer's medals is available for finishers to choose from. The event is named "Medal Mad Friday" as part of this series. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
