Saturn 7 Hour Time Challenge - Staines-upon-Thames

Event overview

SATURN - Will Run For Ice Cream 2026 takes place on Sunday, 5 July 2026 in Staines at The Last Hop, Thames Edge Court. It is a 7-hour timed challenge that lets participants choose how far to run, with a minimum official finishing distance of 3 km. Entrants are limited to 300 and the minimum age is 12 years. Entries close on 04/07/2026. Transfers are allowed online for a fee; deferrals to another event are available for a separate fee. Anyone wishing to run over 45 km must be at least 20 years old; 18 and 19 year olds may run up to 45 km.

Course and facilities

The course runs along a stretch of the River Thames and is fully signed. Surfaces are mainly made paths and tarmac with a very short grass section; road shoes are suitable year round. The event uses a looped lap with on-lap turn points to allow shorter distances for younger competitors. Aid and drinks tables are available at the start/finish of each lap with savoury, sweet, fruit, cheese and vegan options. Toilets and changing facilities are at the venue HQ. A non-secure bag drop is provided at the start/finish area. Headphones are allowed and runners are asked to be considerate of other public footpath users.

• 3 km minimum
• 7 km (one lap, approx; may change to a 3.28 mile loop)
• Half marathon = 3 laps
• Marathon = 6 laps
• Ultra = 7 laps or more
• 50 km option available

Medals and goody bags are given to finishers who complete at least 3 km, with a vegan goody bag option. Distance achievement pins are issued for half-marathon, mega-half, marathon, 50 km and ultra distances. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
