Will Run For Ice Cream 2026 is organised by Saturn Running and takes place on 5 July 2026 at The Last Hop, Thames Edge Court, Clarence Street, Staines, TW18 4SU. The event is an offline, timed running event held along the River Thames and is open to walkers as well as runners. Final race day instructions are sent by email in the week before the event. Number pick up is on the day at race registration.

Distances and format

This is a 7 hour Time Challenge that allows entrants to choose how far to run. Key options include:

• 3 km - minimum distance to be an official finisher.
• 5 km - turn point available within the lap.
• 10 km - available as a named entry distance.
• Half Marathon - three laps of the course.
• Marathon - six laps of the course.
• 50 km - available as a named distance.
• Ultra Marathon - seven or more laps for ultra distance.
• Time Challenge - run as many laps as desired within seven hours.

A full lap is listed as 4.37 miles (about 7 km), subject to change to a 3.28 mile loop depending on course conditions. The course includes 3k and 5k turn points to meet UK Athletics age rules.

Course, awards and facilities

The route is fully signed and mainly on well made paths and tarmac with a short grass section; road shoes are suitable. Finishers who complete at least 3 km receive an ice cream themed medal. Distance pins are awarded for half-marathon distance or more and are attached to the medal ribbon. An aid and drinks table is provided at the start/finish of each lap with savoury, sweet, fruit, cheese and vegan items. Toilets and changing facilities are available at the venue throughout the event. There is unsecured bag storage at the start/finish area. Headphones are allowed.
