Phillippi Shores 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run, Sarasota FL
The Phillippi Shores event comprises a 5K run and a 1 Mile Fun Run, presented by The Sarasota Dental Group and Venice Dental Associates. Proceeds benefit the Phillippi Shores International Baccalaureate World School and its students.
Distances:
- 5K competitive 5 kilometer run
- 1 Mile family fun run with ribbons for all finishers
Registration opens July 13 and closes September 8. Standard registration fee is $30. A family discount for two adults and four children is offered at $80 if completed by October 1.
A Family Fun Zone follows the 5K and includes games, face painting, and jump houses. A Recovery Zone provides snacks and drinks for participants after the events.
Awards for the 5K include overall youth and adult winners by gender, Masters, Grand Masters, Senior Grand Masters, Veteran, and five year age-group awards with six deep for male and female categories. The 1 Mile Fun Run awards ribbons to all finishers and prizes for top male and female. A special award recognizes the largest team.
Packet pick-up takes place on October 1 and October 2 at Phillippi Shores Elementary, 4747 S. Tamiami Trail, Sarasota, FL 34231. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
