Philadelphia International Airport Runway 5K
The Philadelphia International Airport Runway 5K is the 9th annual PHL5K held at Atlantic Aviation PHL, 8375 Enterprise Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19153 on Saturday, September 12, 2026. The course runs on airport pavement and places participants on the airfield while commercial and general aviation aircraft operate on nearby runways.
A festival zone next to the tarmac offers family-oriented activities including face painting, mascots, and a free Kids Dash with age brackets for 1, 2–3, and 4–5 years. The Kids Dash takes place in an enclosed parking area designed for children, and a limited supply of themed capes will be available for that event.
Proceeds benefit local charities such as March of Dimes, Eastwick Friends & Neighbors Coalition, and Eastwick United CDC. Medals are awarded to top finishers based on chip time, with overall awards for top male, top female, and top non-binary finishers, and age-group awards for male and female runners in the listed age divisions.
Entry and site rules include a requirement for valid, TSA-approved government photo ID that matches the registration name and confirmation number for access to the airfield; children over age 8 need a photo ID and younger children require proof of age. Parking is free across the street and the race address for GPS or ride share is 8375 Enterprise Ave. Spectators must remain in the festival/parking area. Pets and strollers are not permitted on the course; authorized service dogs with credentials are allowed. The event is rain or shine, non-refundable, and there is no race-day registration.
