PFC Joseph P Dwyer PTSD Memorial 5K Run
The fifth annual memorial 5K is scheduled for May 30, 2026 in Rocky Point, New York, with event activities centered at Rocky Point High School. The event honors the memory of an Iraq war veteran and supports the Joseph P. Dwyer Veteran Peer Support Project, a peer to peer program for veterans facing post-traumatic stress disorder and traumatic brain injury.
The course runs through the pine barrens and includes trails, hills and a section on the high school track. The published route begins at Rocky Point High School, travels south on Rocky Point Road to the Rocky Point historical sign (about one mile), then turns right at the yellow pipe and follows signs back to the high school.

Race amenities noted by the organizer include age group medals for the 5K, refreshments after the race, and awards for the top three men and women in the walk only event.
