Event overview
The Forgotten Forest 9-Hour Ultra is a timed trail running event held in Roosevelt Forest in Stratford, CT. The event uses a lap course of single and double-track New England trail with roots, rocks, hills and bridges. Each loop is 2.2 miles with approximately 131 feet of elevation gain per lap. The field is limited to 50 participants. Entry is final with no refunds, bib transfers, or deferrals. Participants must be at least 18 years old or have a parental or guardian signed waiver. CDC, state and town requirements are applied.
Course and race logistics
The pavilion serves as the primary aid station and bib pickup location. Porta potties are located nearby. Parking is limited; larger vehicles should use the side lot and RVs are not allowed in the main lot. Pacers are permitted after four hours of racing if they sign a waiver and receive a wristband at the pavilion; there is no charge for pacers. Podium awards are given for the most miles achieved by 1st to 3rd place for both female and male categories. Race entry includes event swag and hydration options; specific dietary needs should be self-supported. The race is part of the Roosevelt Forest Ultras series of trail races held at the town forest.
