Perranporth Triathlon
Perranporth Triathlon is scheduled for 6 September 2026 at Perranporth Beach, TR6 0EY. The event returns after a five year break for its 33rd edition and is organised in collaboration with Perranporth Surf Lifesaving Club. Up to 12,000 people visit Perranporth beach each summer, and the town centre is closed on race day to accommodate competitors and spectators. Junior events take place in the afternoon on the same day.
Race entries compete over two multisport distances. Wetsuits are mandatory and may be a shortie or full body. All finishers receive a medal.
- Little Shark (Super Sprint): 400m swim | 19.0k bike | 3.1k run
- Olympic Shark: 1500m swim | 36.7k bike | 7.5k run
The event is part of the Cornish Tri Series. The series uses a points system with age group winners awarded 100 points for scoring events. The series consists of seven scoring events; final standings use an athlete's best four results and athletes must volunteer themselves or bring a volunteer to at least one event to qualify for overall series awards. Age groups are Open (17-39 yrs), Vet (40-49 yrs), Super Vet (50-59 yrs), Vintage (60-69 yrs) and Super Vintage (70+).
