Ultra runners start on Porth Beach and long half runners assemble at Harlyn Bay for transport to their start. A kit check is held at registration.

Ultra and long half entrants receive a GPS tracker and a route map at registration. Checkpoints along the course provide fluids and salt/sugar snacks. Required kit for ultra and long half runners includes a charged mobile phone, issued GPS tracker and map, headtorch with spare battery, spare warm clothing in a waterproof bag, high-visibility or reflective clothing, small first aid kit, nutrition, compass (phone app acceptable), whistle and a minimum of 800 ml fluid; runners are also asked to carry a festive ornament. Pisky entrants must carry fluid and a fully charged mobile phone.

All finishers receive a medal and there will be awards for top finishers. Time limits are set at 10 hours for the ultra, 6 hours for the long half and 3 hours for the 8-mile event. The event supports the Newquay Coastguard Association through optional donations. Timing is provided by ST App Service; there will be no chip timing. Registration closes 30 November 2025.
