Event overview
Perpetual Motion is a timed running event held on the east shore of Lake Grapevine at Mariner Point Park / Silver Lake Marina in Grapevine, Texas (GPS: 32.959029, -97.056201). The event offers the following options:
- 6-hour run
- 12-hour run
- 24-hour run
- Perpetual Virtual
Runners complete repeated laps on a certified 800 meter (0.5144 mile) paved loop. The course is a closed loop on the lake shore and the race changes running direction every four hours. The event coincides with the local "Twinkle Light Boat Parade" during the weekend.
Logistics, amenities and awards
Packet pickup is available at the race location on the Friday and Saturday before the event. Aid stations provide a range of daytime foods and nighttime options including hot soups and hot drinks. The sports drink provided is Hammer Heed. There is space for personal aid stations, free on-site camping, and parking on the loop. Long-sleeve shirts are offered; sizes are not guaranteed after November 16. Participants receive unique medals and other swag. In-person awards include trophies for the top three male and top three female finishers in each race. Milestone awards include coins for 50+ miles and buckles for 100+ miles (buckles require verification for virtual entries). Timing is provided by MCM Timing and Results LLC.
