Event overview

The BOWUM - The Borderlands of Wales Ultra Marathon takes place on 4 April 2026. The route is a circular ultra starting and finishing in Monmouth and covers 30 miles through the borderlands of Monmouthshire. The course follows sections of the Three Castles Walk and parts of Offa’s Dyke Path, passing the medieval castles at Skenfrith, Grosmont, and White Castle. Route and logistics

There are 3 fully manned checkpoints along the route. Mandatory kit includes appropriate footwear, a 1 litre water carrier, a mobile phone, a head lamp or other light source, a foil blanket, a waterproof jacket, and a rucksack.
