Event Format
Peak Raid Race 2 in Edale is part of a series of four 3-hour fell running events. It uses a score format, where competitors are given a waterproof map at the start. Participants then have three hours to plan and run their own route, visiting as many control points as possible to collect points. Points are deducted for finishing late. The series uses varied terrain in the Peak District, from high moorland to more runnable limestone dales.
Participation
Competitors can enter as a solo runner or as a pair (two people). There is also a category for a parent/guardian and a junior runner, where the junior must be at least 14 years old. The overall series result is based on a competitor's best three finishes from the four races. Prizes are awarded in multiple age and gender categories for those who complete at least two races.
Requirements
All competitors must carry the FRA Mandatory Minimum Kit. This includes full waterproof body cover (jacket and trousers with taped seams), hat, gloves, map, compass, whistle, emergency food, and a survival bag. Kit will be checked. Dogs are not permitted at the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
