Peak Raid Race 2 Edale
Peak Raid Race 2 Edale is part of a four-race series of three-hour fell score events held in the Peak District. The event takes place in Edale and uses varied terrain including high moorland, limestone dales, hills and moors. Competitors are given a waterproof map with control descriptions and a points value sheet and then have three hours to choose their own route and visit controls to score points; late return incurs point penalties.
The format supports solo entries or pairs, with pairs allowed in all categories. There are 15 age and category divisions covering men, women, veteran age groups, mixed pairs, and a Parent or Guardian & Under 18 class. Age categories are determined by age on 31/12/2026 and for pairs by the age of the older runner. The minimum age for competitors is 14; if one runner is under 18, the other must be the parent or guardian or an accompanying adult over 21.
All races use electronic timing and the series counts competitors' best three results toward the overall league. Entrants must carry the FRA mandatory minimum kit which includes waterproof jacket and trousers with taped seams and an attached hood, hat, gloves, map (provided), compass, whistle, emergency food and a survival bag (not a blanket); kit checks are carried out.
