About the race
Join the Paws of War 5K Family Run/Walk at Heckscher State Park (Field 1) on Long Island. The USATF-certified 5K course runs 3.1 miles through the park’s grounds and surrounding area, offering a flat route suitable for runners and walkers alike. The event, sponsored by Sunrise Knights of Columbus Council 6607, supports veterans and active heroes through the Paws of War organization.
Attendees can expect live results, free finish-line photos, event T-shirts, and post-race refreshments. In-person registration includes a bib with optional personalized numbering; virtual options are also available. Proceeds benefit programs for veterans and service dogs.
