Course, logistics and awards
The 3.1 mile course begins on a closed road and enters the Massapequa Preserve after a few hundred yards. Runners spend about half the course on dirt or gravel trails and half on a paved trail, then return to roadway for the finish. The race site is at Front Street and Park Boulevard; parking is recommended under the LIRR tracks. Check-in for bib pickup is at the white tent in Municipal Lot 1. Bib numbers will be provided to participants by text or email before pickup.
Awards are given to the top three overall male and female finishers, the top active NYPD officer male and female, and top finishers in age groups: 15 & under, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60+. Proceeds support initiatives for officers mental health, family assistance after a suicide, grief groups, seminars, and related awareness and prevention efforts.
