Patrick Riddell April Run Series Race 1
The Patrick Riddell April Run Series Race 1 takes place at Assiniboine Park in Winnipeg, Manitoba. This event serves as the first installment of a three-part spring series and includes the following distances for in-person participants:
- 2 km (fun run)
- 5 km
The courses begin at the Nature Playground Parking Lot. Participants navigate a route that remains open to vehicular traffic, guided by traffic marshals and lead or trail cyclists. Aid stations are positioned at the start and finish area, as well as at a point 2.2 km from the start. Timing is tracked using a single-use chip attached to the participant's shoe, recording the duration from the start mat to the finish line.
A virtual participation option is also available between March 29 and April 10. This allows runners to complete their chosen distance of 2 km or 5 km at any location and submit their data through a tracking application.
Results from this event contribute to the Manitoba Runners Association (MRA) Youth Series and Classic Series standings. Medical First Responders from St. John's Ambulance are present at the finish line and on bicycles throughout the course to provide assistance if required.
