About the race
The Patagonia Salmon Run is the 30th annual Salmon Run, scheduled for November 15, 2026, in Ventura, California. The event listed as Salmon Run 5K features an official distance of 3.14 miles and takes place with a new race course and event location.
Proceeds from the event will support Santa Barbara Channelkeeper, a local environmental nonprofit focused on protecting and restoring the Santa Barbara Channel and its watersheds. Channelkeeper’s work includes water quality monitoring, marine protected area stewardship, pollution prevention, watershed advocacy, science-based advocacy, education, fieldwork, enforcement, volunteer programs, and public outreach.
Registration information in the event materials notes that registration opens on August 3, 2026, the registration fee is $55, space is limited, registration is online only, and there will not be day-of registration. Packet pickup begins at 6:30 AM on Sunday, November 15. Organizers state an intention for the Salmon Run to be a Zero-Waste-Event; participants are asked to plan to bring their own water bottle and coffee mug and will receive additional preparation details closer to the race.
A store promotion is noted for race participants: the Patagonia store at 235 W. Santa Clara St, Ventura, CA 93001 will offer a 25 percent discount on full-priced items when a racer brings their bib, valid November 15 through November 22, 2026.
