Santa to the Sea : Oxnard, CA
Santa to the Sea is an annual nonprofit running event in Oxnard, California. The 2025 main race day is Sunday, December 14, 2025; the Diaper Dash is held the day before. The event began in 2003 as a toy drive and now combines running events with a community fundraiser and toy collection for underprivileged children in Ventura County. The organization reports serving over 1,000 low-income children each year, distributing around 3,000 toys annually and awarding about $500,000 in scholarships to date. The Santa to the Sea Scholarship Fund partners with the Gene Haas Foundation and the Oxnard College Foundation to provide $500 scholarships to local students and adults continuing education at Oxnard College.
Race format, course and festival
Races are based at 2801 Ventura Boulevard in Oxnard and finish at Marine Emporium Landing in Channel Islands Harbor. The half marathon begins at the large Santa display along U.S. 101, runs through Oxnard strawberry fields and passes historic downtown Oxnard. The quarter marathon starts in downtown Oxnard. A Finish Line Festival at the harbor includes a kids play area, Santa’s Village, costume contests, food booths and live entertainment.
