Pat Magovern Shillelagh 5K Race & One-Mile Walk
The event takes place on October 3, 2026 at Bar Anticipation in Lake Como, New Jersey. The course passes through the Jersey Shore towns of Belmar, Lake Como and Spring Lake. A post race gathering with barbecue is scheduled at Bar Anticipation (703 16th Avenue, Lake Como).
Official timing is provided by Elite Racing Systems. Awards are presented to the top three overall male and female finishers, the top three Shillelagh members, and winners in multiple age groups including 19 and under, 20 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, 60 to 69, 70 to 79, and 80 and over.

Registration details vary by event and date. For the 5K and the one mile walk for ages 12 and older, online pre-registration is $40 through September 12, 2026, then $45 for registrations from September 13 through October 3, 2026; shirts are available while supplies last. The kids one mile walk (11 and under) is $20 online through October 2, 2026 and $25 in person on race day.
Bib and T-shirt pickup is available at the Shillelagh Club (815 16th Avenue, Belmar) on Friday October 2 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM and on race day at Bar Anticipation from 7:30 to 8:45 AM.
The event raises funds for The Foundation of the Friendly Sons of the Shillelagh, which provides college scholarships to local students and assists individuals in need. Donations may be made during registration. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
