About the race
The Holmdel Classic is a trail running event at Holmdel Park in Holmdel, New Jersey, organized by MCW Ultras with proceeds supporting MissionCleanWater, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit focused on sustainable clean water systems.
The event uses a single loop course of roughly 4.5 miles that combines grass, dirt, rocks, roots, gravel, pavement, and both sustained climbs and descents. The loop includes an open grass field start, an initial uphill section, the park feature called The Bowl near mile 1.5, rolling double track, and sections of single track. Course markings will include lawn signs, pink flagging tape, and signs on cones; participants are advised not to follow other trail markings. The course is about 95% trail and double track with approximately 584 feet of elevation gain per lap.
Timed lap counting will be handled with an RFID timing system. Aid is available at the start/finish location and will include drinks, snacks, hydration options, and basic first aid; no food will be prepared and there are no aid stations along the course. The event enforces an 8 hour cutoff for the approximately 50 km distance, and pacers are not allowed on course. Spectators are permitted. All proceeds benefit MissionCleanWater, which reports ongoing maintenance programs, emergency repair response, and a stated goal of expanding clean water access.
