The Holmdel Classic
The Holmdel Classic is a looped trail race held in Holmdel Park, Monmouth County, New Jersey. The event offers multiple distance options on a roughly 4.5 mile loop that uses the park's cross-country and single track trails, grassy fields, double track, and short paved sections. The course is mostly trail and double track and records about 584 feet of elevation gain per lap.
Distances:
- 50 kmish : seven laps of the loop
- Halfish : three laps of the loop
- One lap : approximately 4.5 miles
Timing is handled with an RFID system that records each completed lap. There is a strict eight hour cutoff for the 50 kmish distance, equivalent to an average pace of about 4.07 mph. An aid station will be located at the start/finish area and will provide drinks, snacks, hydration, and first aid; there are no aid stations on the course and no prepared food. Participants may carry personal supplies. Spectators are allowed; pacers are not permitted on course.
All proceeds support MissionCleanWater, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that provides and maintains clean water systems through inspections, emergency repairs, and supply distribution, and that aims to expand access to safe water. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
