About the race
The Holmdel Classic is a trail race on December 12, 2026, held at Holmdel Park in Holmdel, New Jersey. The event is organized by MCW Ultras and benefits MissionCleanWater, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit focused on providing safely managed clean water systems to underserved communities.
Distances:
- 50 kmish : seven laps of the 4.65 mile loop
- Halfish : three laps of the 4.65 mile loop
- 4.65 mile single lap
The course is a single loop of about 4.65 miles that is approximately 95% trail and double track, with 584 feet of elevation gain per lap. Surface conditions include grass, dirt, rocks, roots, gravel, short pavement sections, and sections of single-track trail. A signature feature called "The Bowl" appears near mile 1.5. Directional markings will include lawn signs, pink flagging tape, and signs on cones.
Timing will use an RFID system to record each lap. There is a strict eight-hour cutoff for the 50 kmish distance (equivalent to a 4.07 mph average). An aid station will be located at the start/finish with drinks, snacks, hydration, and first aid; there are no aid stations on the loop. Participants may carry their own supplies. Spectators are allowed; pacers are not permitted.
All proceeds go to MissionCleanWater. The organization reports monthly inspections, 24-hour emergency response for repairs, a supply chain for replacement materials, and a goal of providing clean water access to 500,000 people by 2030.
