The Holmdel Classic : December 12, 2026
The Holmdel Classic is an end-of-year trail running event held at Holmdel Park in Monmouth County, New Jersey. The event offers multiple distance options based on repeated laps of a measured loop. Timing is done with an RFID system and each lap is recorded. There is a strict eight hour cutoff (4.07 mph). All proceeds go to MissionCleanWater, a nonprofit focused on installing and maintaining clean water systems.
Distances
- 50 km-ish, seven laps, about 4.65 miles per lap
- Halfish, three laps, about 4.65 miles per lap
- Single lap option, about 4.65 miles
The course is predominately trail and double track with 584 feet of elevation gain per lap and varied surfaces including grass, dirt, rock, roots, gravel, and some pavement. Each lap starts across an open grass field, includes a quarter mile uphill, reaches a feature called The Bowl at roughly mile 1.5, and exits The Bowl via a steep climb before additional sustained up and down sections. Directional aids will include lawn signs, pink flagging tape, and signs taped to cones. An aid station at the start/finish offers drinks, snacks, hydration, and basic first aid; there are no on-course aid stations and no prepared food. Runners may carry personal supplies, spectators are allowed, and pacers are not permitted. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
