About the race
Parallel Windsor is a Festival of Inclusivity held on Sunday 11 July 2027 in the grounds of Windsor Great Park and staged on the Long Walk. The event presents a programme of challenge events and a wider festival of activities designed for a range of ages, health conditions and abilities.
Challenge events use a "Start Together, Finish Whenever" format so participants can walk, push or run with no cut off times. Distances offered include:
- 100 m Challenge
- 1 km Challenge
- Supersensory 1 km Challenge
- 5 km Challenge
- 10 km Challenge
Everyone who starts a challenge receives a medal, t shirt and goody bag. A Virtual Entry option is available; virtual entries receive a medal and t shirt. Parallel’s SuperSensory event supports neurodiversity and participants with profound and multiple learning disabilities by offering sensory tasks that engage sound, taste, touch and smell.
The festival programme includes Animal Kingdom, arts and crafts, climbing wall, comedy, cookery, dance, inclusive sport, music, a picnic area, a sensory zone, street food and a quiet space. On-site facilities listed for accessibility include parking, accessible toilets, accessible changing, medical support, a sensory space and a quiet space.
