Event Format
The Parallel of Latitude Endurance Race is an 8-hour fixed-time event. Participants have 8 hours to complete as many laps as they choose. The event includes an 8-hour solo division and an 8-hour relay division for teams of 2 to 6 people.
Course Details
The race takes place on a flat rail trail next to Dryden Lake. Each full loop is a 3.45-mile out-and-back. During the final hour of the event, optional "mini parallels of latitude" laps can be completed within the park; these count toward the total mileage. The course is described as having little to no elevation gain.
Aid and Facilities
One large aid station is located at the start/finish of each loop. Participants can set up personal rest areas with pop-up tents or use one of two pavilions near the start/finish area. The race headquarters and start/finish line are at the large pavilion in Dryden Lake Park.
Registration and Awards
Online pre-registration is required and closes the day before the event. There is no same-day, in-person registration. All participants receive a custom concrete finisher stone engraved with their completed distance. The top male and female solo participants, as well as members of the top relay team, receive a larger concrete stone and other items. Lifetime mileage awards are accumulated across multiple years of participation. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
