Virgil Crest Ultras is a trail ultramarathon held near Cortland, New York at 2245 Clute Rd. The event offers multiple distances and a relay option.

The course includes steep ascents and descents, significant cumulative elevation gain and loss, and technical singletrack. Weather can add to the difficulty. Runners should expect a prominent opening climb with views at sunrise and technical flow sections through forested trail.
Organizers note the course will differ from prior years and plan to release updated maps and details before the event. The 100 mile cutoff is 36 hours from the official start. Aid station cutoffs and full course information will be posted once the course is finalized. Distance drop policy provides an unofficial finish time for any shorter distance a runner drops into.
For the 100 mile event, pacers are permitted at or after 50 miles or at nightfall. Poles are permitted for all entrants and must fit inside a drop bag if left at an aid station for transport. The start and finish are crew accessible and at least one additional station will allow crew access. Registration closes on Thu, Sep 10 at 11:59 PM ET. The race has historically provided locally sourced finisher giveaways and a 2021 photo gallery documents past race moments. A Greek Peak running festival takes place the same weekend.
