Greek Peak Running Festival
The inaugural Greek Peak Running Festival takes place at the Greek Peak Mountain Resort in Cortland, New York. This event features a selection of trail races hosted on woodchip paths and mountain slopes, incorporating significant elevation changes and views of the surrounding area. The festival is designed as a family-friendly gathering with activities held at the base of the mountain.
Participants can choose from several distances and formats:
- 25k: A mountain trail race consisting of multiple ascents and descents.
- 10k: A two-loop course featuring mountain terrain and at least one water station.
- 5k: A single-loop mountain course with uphill sections.
- Uphill 1k Run: A direct ascent up the steeper Iliad slope, covering 1,000 feet of elevation.
- Doggo 5k: A canicross-style run for participants with leashed dogs.
- Night Time 10k: A nocturnal version of the two-loop course requiring headlamps.
- Night Time 5k: A nocturnal version of the single-loop course requiring headlamps.
- 1 Mile Kids Run: A marked course for children aged 12 and under.
