Papertown Trail Races
Papertown Trail Races take place on October 10, 2026, at Chestnut Mountain Nature Park in Canton, NC (2153 Asheville Highway). The event offers two trail distances and uses a start and finish at the Chestnut Mountain Bridge Area.
The race options are:
- 20K (long course, approximately 9 miles)
- 10K (short course, 6.2 miles)
The short course follows a route using Papertown Express, Old Timer, and Turnpike with turn signage and a posted course profile and map. Course marking will include signs at every turn. There will be one water station on the course; participants are advised to carry their own fluids and nutrition.
Entry fees vary by registration period: $35 from January 1 to March 31, $40 from April 1 to September 30, and $45 from October 1 through race day. Packet pickup is scheduled on the morning of the event at Chestnut Mountain Nature Park, and on-site registration is accepted up to 15 minutes before each race. The event uses chip timing with chips attached to the back of the race bib; bibs should be worn on the front for finish-line recognition.
Post-race water and light snacks will be available near the finish. Dogs are allowed in parking and the start and finish area on the bridge but are not allowed on the course. The organizer has a no refund no deferral policy; transfers are permitted with a processing fee and must be completed before October 8, 2026.
