Papertown Trail Races
Papertown Trail Races returns for a second running at Chestnut Mountain Nature Park in Canton, North Carolina on October 10, 2026. The event offers two trail distances that start and finish at the Chestnut Mountain Bridge Area.
- Approximately 6.2 miles (Short Race)
- Approximately 9.3 miles (Long Race)
The short race route follows Papertown Express with turns onto Old Timer, Turnpike, and Berm Park. Long race course details are listed as coming soon. The course will have signs marking every turn and a single water station; runners are advised to carry their own fluids and nutrition.
Packet pickup and late registration are held at the park on race day and on-site registration is accepted up to 15 minutes before each race. Chip timing will be used and timing chips are attached to the back of race bibs; bibs should be worn on the front of clothing. Live results will be available during the event via QR code and final results will be posted later that day.
Additional details include a no refund no deferral policy, transfers allowed for a processing fee of two dollars with a transfer deadline in early October, a la carte long sleeve shirts available for twenty dollars, parking in the Chestnut Mountain lot, and water and light snacks provided near the finish. Dogs are allowed in the parking and trailhead area but not on the course. Awards are given to the top ten male and top ten female finishers in each race.
