Event Details

The Papertown Trail Races are trail running events held at Chestnut Mountain Nature Park in Canton, North Carolina. The event includes two race distances: a 10K (6.2-mile) short race and a 20K (approximately 9-mile) long race. This is noted as the event's second running.

Course Information

Both races start and finish at the Chestnut Mountain Bridge Area within the park. There will be one water station on the course. Runners are advised to carry their own fluids and nutrition. Registration & Fees

Online registration is required. It opens on January 1, 2026, and closes on October 8, 2026, at 9:00 PM. Entry fees increase over time:

  • January 1 - March 31: $35
  • April 1 - September 30: $40
  • October 1 - Race Day: $45 A long-sleeve race shirt is available as an optional purchase for $20.

Logistics

Packet pickup and late registration are available on race day from 7:30 AM to 9:15 AM at Chestnut Mountain Nature Park. On-site registration closes 15 minutes before each race start. Parking is available in the Chestnut Mountain parking lot. The event has a no refund and no deferral policy. Bib transfers between distances or to another person are permitted through the registration platform for a $2 processing fee and must be completed by October 8, 2026.

Awards & Timing

Prizes are awarded to the top 10 male and top 10 female finishers in each race. The event uses chip timing, with the chip attached to the race bib.
