The eighth edition of this race takes place on local grounds and serves as a fundraiser to support homeless animals at the Darlington County Humane Society Shelter and The Florence Area Humane Society. The race is part of the Pee Dee Grand Prix Series. In addition to the running courses, the event site includes music, food, and activities designed for children. This race is held rain or shine, and the course accommodates participants with strollers. Participants are permitted to listen to music while running, and friendly, leashed dogs are welcome to accompany their owners.
