Panting for Paws 5K, 10K and Virtual 5K
Panting for Paws takes place on September 26, 2026 at West Florence High School, 221 N Beltline Drive, Florence, SC. The event includes in-person races and a virtual 5K option that still receives a tee shirt and finisher medal.

All proceeds support the Darlington County Humane Society Shelter and the Florence Area Humane Society. The event offers finisher medals for all who complete the 5K, 10K, or virtual race. There will be music, food, and activities for children, plus opportunities to visit dogs and puppies available for adoption. Friendly leashed dogs are welcome and strollers are permitted.
Shirt orders are subject to a cut-off date of September 12; sizes listed include adult S to XXL and youth S to L. Awards use gun time for overall results and include overall male and female placements for the 5K and 10K plus age group awards for male and female runners. The 5K also awards 1st through 3rd place for dogs. Age group categories are specified separately for the 5K and 10K.
Registration pricing is tiered: through September 12 the 5K is $35 and the 10K is $40; late and day-of registration fees increase. Packet pickup is at West Florence High School the day before and on race morning. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
