About the race
Lights 4 Paws is a 5K run and walk held on November 21, 2026 at Lynches River County Park in Coward, South Carolina. The course is staged as a nighttime event with multiple illuminated displays and festive features along the route. Participants are encouraged to wear seasonal attire; a costume contest will award prizes for the most creative Christmas costume and the ugliest or tackiest sweater. The event welcomes dogs on leash and asks owners to clean up after their pets in accordance with park rules.
Strollers are allowed and participants may listen to music while on the course. There are no age restrictions for entry. Every participant in the 5K receives a toboggan hat.
Awards are planned for top Overall, Masters, and Grandmasters finishers, with homemade 12 inch cheesecakes for the top Overall awards, and age group awards for the top three men and women in each listed age bracket. Registration fees vary by date: $30 through October 13, $35 through October 31, $40 through November 20, and $45 on the day of the event. A family promotion offers $5 off each family member up to six when registering together. Packet pickup takes place at Lynches River County Park.
