Pagan Midwinter Marathon
The Pagan Midwinter Marathon is a midwinter trail event based in Chagford in the north-eastern corner of Dartmoor. The event visits many stone circles and other historic sites in north Dartmoor and is organised from Chagford Cricket and Football Club.
Two distance options are offered:
- Marathon - over 28 miles, more than 1500 m ascent.
- Half Marathon - well over 14 miles, almost 700 m ascent.
The event date is 23 January 2027. Minimum age to enter is 17 years. Marathon entries include a GPS tracker. Entries open on 6 February 2026 and close on 17 January 2027. Entry fees are listed by membership status and increase on 1 December 2026; examples given are UKA member £78 rising to £83, and non member £80 rising to £85.
The organiser is OuterEdge Events and the event uses the SiEntries online system; entrants must log in or register with SiEntries to enter. The description notes midwinter conditions on Dartmoor and substantial elevation gain on both courses.
