Pagan Midwinter Marathon and Half Marathon
The Pagan Midwinter events take place on 24 January 2026 at Chagford Cricket and Football Club, Chagford, Devon (TQ13 8AS). The races are organised by OuterEdge Events and are based in north-eastern Dartmoor. The courses visit stone circles and other pagan sites in that part of north Dartmoor. The minimum age for entry is 18 or older.
Distances and elevation
- Marathon - over 28 miles
- Half Marathon - well over 14 miles
The Marathon route includes more than 1500 m of ascent and the Half Marathon has almost 700 m of ascent. The routes are set in midwinter conditions on Dartmoor. The Marathon entry includes a GPS tracker.
Entries, fees and policies
Entries open on 1 February 2025. Entry closing dates differ by distance: the Marathon closes on 16 January 2026 and the Half Marathon closes on 21 January 2026. Entry fees listed are: Marathon UKA member £78, non-member £80; Half Marathon UKA member £46, non-member £48. Entry requires registration with the event entry system.
