The Dartmoor Crossing / Great Escape
The event comprises two linear trail races that finish at Ivybridge Rugby Club in Devon. Both courses are fully marked and marshalled and use remote moorland tracks and bridleways.
- The Crossing - 33.5 miles; 1,119 m ascent and 1,516 m descent.
- The Great Escape - 15.5 miles; a long half marathon from Princetown.
The Crossing visits upland moorland and the villages of Belstone, Postbridge and Ivybridge and includes two fully stocked aid stations plus two remote water stops. The Great Escape follows the final section of The Crossing along the Abbot’s Way, crosses the Erme Valley and includes two water stops. All distances are approximate.
Registration and the event centre are at Ivybridge Rugby Club. As these are linear routes, coach transfers to the starts are available for an additional fee. Overnight camping at the rugby club can be booked for a per pitch nightly fee; facilities include limited shower and changing provision, bar service and food sales on race day.
A mandatory kit list applies and organisers may perform kit checks. The event operates a plastic free no cups policy; runners should provide their own reusable cup or bottle. Bespoke finisher medals are provided and event t-shirts can be purchased during entry. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
