Paddy Buckley Round
The Paddy Buckley Round is a professionally guided, fully supported three day loop through Northern Snowdonia that visits the major mountain ranges and 47 summits. The route covers just over 100 km with approximately 9,000 m of ascent and descent. Participants will typically cover up to 40 km per day while running or walking the hills and technical sections.
The route includes sections of the Welsh 3000s and also passes through the Moelwyn and Nantle Ridge ranges. The organisers have regularly guided the Welsh 3000 challenge for over 20 years. Each day the group returns to Capel Curig, where hotels, hostels and campsites are available.
The next open event runs from 21 July to 23 July 2026. Places are limited to a maximum of six participants and the listed cost is £749. Other dates are available for private groups.
Guiding provision includes a maximum 1:6 leader to participant ratio, refuelling opportunities at mid points on each day, a support vehicle with a qualified leader, and transport to and from the base in Capel Curig. Accommodation, food and cancellation insurance are not included. The organisers recommend previous experience such as completing the Welsh 3000s over two days or a 50 km event as a minimum. A second leader supports each day on the hill and by vehicle to allow partial participation or early withdrawal if required. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
