Event overview

The Paddy Buckley Round is a professionally guided, fully supported three-day route in northern Snowdonia. The loop visits 47 mountain tops and covers just over 100 km with approximately 9,000 m of ascent and descent. The organiser runs the event in small groups, with a maximum of six places for the open event on Tuesday 21 July to Thursday 23 July 2026. The listed cost is £749.

Format and logistics

Participants will typically run up to 40 km per day and will return to Capel Curig each evening, where a range of accommodation options are available. Pace is described as a slow run, with walking on steep or technical sections. A second leader and a support vehicle will be present on all three days, allowing participants to do only part of a day or to stop early if required.

Support, inclusions and preparation

Included are low-ratio guiding and supervision (maximum 1:6), refuelling opportunities at midpoints each day, a support vehicle with a qualified leader, and transport out and back each day from the Capel Curig base. Accommodation, food and cancellation insurance are not included. The organiser recommends prior completion of the Welsh 3000s over two days or one of the organiser’s 50 km events as preparation.
