Paddy Buckley Round
The Paddy Buckley Round is a guided three day loop through the major mountain ranges of northern Snowdonia. The route visits 47 mountain tops and covers just over 100 km with approximately 9,000 m of ascent and descent. Participants typically cover up to 40 km per day in small groups.
Guiding and supervision are provided by a mountaineering instructor with detailed knowledge of the route. The event runs with a low leader to participant ratio, with a stated maximum guide ratio of 1:6. Each day includes a halfway refuelling opportunity for food and drink, and a support vehicle with a qualified leader is available if extra help is required on the hill.
Each day the group returns to Capel Curig, where accommodation options include hotels, hostels and campsites. Transport out to the route and back to the base in Capel Curig is included.
A listed open event runs from 21 July to 23 July 2026 with a maximum of six places and a fee of £749. Other dates are available for groups. Accommodation, main food and cancellation insurance are not included. Places are limited due to terrain and the supervision required. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
