Event overview

The Paddy Buckley Round is a professionally guided, fully supported three-day route in northern Snowdonia. The route visits 47 mountain tops on a loop of just over 100 km with approximately 9,000 m of ascent and descent. The programme covers the major mountain ranges in the area, including the Moelwyn and Nantle Ridge ranges. The open event runs from Tuesday 21 July to Thursday 23 July 2026. Maximum group size is 6 and the entry fee is £749.

Format and logistics

Participants will be organised in small groups and will run up to 40 km per day. Pace is described as slow running with walking on steep or technical sections. Each day returns to Capel Curig, where hotels, hostels and campsites are available. Included services are guiding at a maximum ratio of 1:6, refuelling opportunities around halfway each day (food and drink), a support vehicle with a qualified leader, and transport out and back each day from the base in Capel Curig. Accommodation, personal food and cancellation insurance are not included.

Entries open Wednesday 30 July 2025 and close Sunday 12 July 2026. An instalment payment option is offered with 50% on entry and the balance due by 23 May 2026.
