Outrun Hunger 5K
Outrun Hunger is a community run organized by Hillsborough County Farm Bureau to benefit United Food Bank and Services in Plant City. The event is part of Farm City Week and is held at the Hillsborough County Fairgrounds in Dover, Florida. It aims to raise awareness about local agriculture and food insecurity while highlighting Florida commodities.
Race options include:
- 5K
- Fun Run
- 5K Virtual
Registration fees are published for each entry type. Examples include the 5K tiered pricing of $30 through 10/14, $35 from 10/15 through 11/7, and $40 race morning. Fun Run fees are $15 through 11/7 and $20 race morning. The virtual 5K fee is $35.
Packet pickup is scheduled the day before the event and on race morning. Awards recognize the top three male and female finishers and overall male and female winners in age groups: 9 and under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60 and over. Race registration includes a t-shirt, finisher medal, an entry ticket to the 2026 Hillsborough County Fair, and refreshments. Free race photos are provided by a sponsor. There are no refunds.
The event features agricultural education and Fresh from Florida samples at the finish such as milk, strawberries, and beef to highlight local farming. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
