Event overview
Outrun Hunger is the 2nd annual 5K event in Tampa, FL, held on November 8, 2025 at the Florida State Fairgrounds. The event is organized by the Hillsborough County Farm Bureau and benefits Feeding Tampa Bay. It serves as a kickoff to Farm City Week, a local celebration that highlights the connection between rural farms and urban consumers and promotes agricultural education.
The race route runs through the Florida State Fairgrounds and includes stations highlighting agriculture in Hillsborough County. Agriculture experts will be present during the event. At the finish area, participants can find Fresh from Florida samples such as strawberry shortcake, Florida milk, watermelon slices and steak bites.

Pricing for the in-person 5K varies by registration date: $30, $35, or $40. The Fun Run fee is listed as $15 or $20 depending on registration timing. The virtual 5K fee is $35. Packet pickup is available the day before the event and on race day.
Awards are given to the top three male and female finishers and to overall male and female in age groups: 9 and under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60 and over. Placing runners receive a Fresh from Florida watermelon. Free race photos are provided by a sponsor. The event policy states there are no refunds. Sponsors include Driscoll's and G+F Farms.
