Run Tampa Tinsel Run
Run Tampa Tinsel Run is scheduled for December 12, 2026 at Al Lopez Park in Tampa. Activities, packet pickup, and the start/finish area are located at Shelter 315 on the back side of the park. Parking is free and participants may park anywhere in the park; the event area is a short walk from the front parking.
Distances included in the event:
- 5K road race, chip timed
- Virtual 5K with mailed shirt and medal
- 1 mile fun run, untimed
Pre-race fees listed for the event are $35 for the 5K, $35 for the virtual 5K, and $25 for the 1 mile fun run. Prices increase on August 10 and again on November 11 plus processing fees. A gender specific shirt is guaranteed for registrations completed by December 3; female shirts run small. Virtual registration includes mailing of shirt and medal to an address within the continental United States. Virtual participants choose their own course and follow an honor system; reporting of time is not required and virtual registrants should not appear at the race site.
Pre-race packet pickup occurs on the two listed weekday dates at local running stores in Tampa with afternoon pickup hours. Race day bib and shirt pickup is available at Shelter 315. Bib transfers are allowed only through the official registration management tool and must be completed by December 6. Switching from in person to virtual must be completed prior to November 28 via the registration management tool.
Awards for the 5K include stuffed gnome awards for top three overall male and female, three deep age group awards across standard brackets, running shoes for first place adult and first place under 15, $20 gift cards for age group winners, and two middle of the pack awards with $100 toward running shoes.
