Overdose Lifeline Outpacing the Stigma 5K Run/Walk
The Overdose Lifeline Outpacing the Stigma 5K Run/Walk is scheduled for October 17, 2026, in Indianapolis with an on site 5K Run/Walk along the Indianapolis Canal and through the Butler Campus and a Virtual 5K option. This is the event's fifth annual edition and registrations carry a fee of $35 for both in person and virtual entries.
Proceeds and fundraising support Heart Rock Justus Family Recovery Center in Marion County, which provides services designed for pregnant women and mothers ages 18 and older who are in recovery from substance use or dual diagnosis. Since opening in November 2022, the center has served more than 89 moms and 45 babies and offers toddler friendly subsidized housing and holistic substance use therapy to help keep women and children together during recovery.
Funds raised through registrations and individual or team fundraising support operations at the recovery center. Examples of listed support levels include one month of free housing and recovery support for a mom at $1,500; one month of free housing and supplies for a baby at $1,000; a one year supply of diapers for a baby at $750; a Child Advocate at $150; and hygiene baskets for a mom or a baby at $75 and $50 respectively.
