Outlands Endurance Races
The Outlands Endurance Races take place April 17-18, 2027, out of Peninsula Campground in Pilot Hill, California. The weekend features trail running and a mountain bike race on lakeshore singletrack around Folsom Lake, with steady climbing, quiet terrain, and open views.
Distances offered:
- 25K - 15.5 miles, 1,452 ft climbing.
- 50K - 31.1 miles, 3,407 ft climbing.
- 50 Mile - out-and-back, 6,100 ft climbing.
- 50K MTB - 50 kilometers mountain bike course.
Trail run aid stations are positioned along each course and are stocked with gels, chips, candy, potatoes, bananas, water, and Skratch Hydration. Specific aid locations include Rodgers Gang, Acorn Creek, Cronin Ranch, and Magnolia Ranch at various mile points on the courses. The 50 Mile course lists checkpoints at miles 5.5, 13.7, 21.6, 24.7, 27.9, 35.7, and 44.2; cut-offs use a 16:30 min/mile pace structure. The 50K mountain bike route starts at Magnolia Ranch and finishes at Peninsula Campground, with aid at Cronin Ranch (mile 8), Salmon Ranch 1 (mile 16), and Salmon Ranch 2 (mile 21); shuttles move riders from the finish to the start.
The Space Bunny Challenge recognizes participants who complete any Saturday trail distance and the Sunday MTB race; finishers receive a plaque and jersey. The event is organized by Bad Luck Run Club.
