Oswestry 10k
The Oswestry 10k is a town road race in Oswestry, Shropshire with a one lap course that uses fully closed roads. The route is mainly on town roads with undulating sections and a scenic stretch towards the end. The course follows Church Street, Morda Road, Nant Lane, Trefonen Road, Oswestry Road and Upper Brook Street before returning to Church Street.
Race headquarters and the start and finish area are at Smithfield Street, Oswestry SY11 2EG. The race village is a short walk from local parks, car parks, shops, cafes and eateries. Designated car parks include Bailey Head car park SY11 1PZ and Salop Road Central Car Park SY11 2NR. Organisers advise local residents to park on the outskirts of town and walk in when possible.
Roads are closed for runner safety and marshals will manage the course. The event has a race cut off time of 90 minutes; roads reopen in line with this pace and participants who fall behind may be asked to withdraw. Water and a finishers medal are provided at the finish. Awards are given to the top three male and top three female finishers and to 14 age group winners. The event lists Hope House as its charity partner.
