Event Overview

The Oswestry 10k is a running event taking place on Sunday, 11th October 2026. The start and finish is on Church Street in Oswestry town centre. The event headquarters and the start/finish area are a short walk from several town centre car parks.

Route & Course

The route is a single loop around the town. It starts and finishes on Church Street, passing along Morda Road, Nant Lane, Trefonen Road, Oswestry Road, and Upper Brook Street before returning to Church Street. The course is described as an undulating, fast one-lap race held on fully closed roads for safety. The route is mainly on town roads with a scenic section towards the end.

Event Day Information

On the day, participants are advised to arrive by 8:00 am. A warm-up is scheduled for 8:45 am, with the race starting at 9:00 am. Parking is suggested at Bailey Head car park (SY11 1PZ) or Salop Road Central Car Park (SY11 2NR). Local residents are advised to park on the outskirts and walk in, as roads will be closed for the race from 8:15 am.

Spectators are asked to listen to marshals and stay off the course. They are welcome to watch from the start and finish on Church Street, as well as from pavements along the route. A race cut-off time of 90 minutes is in place for safety, after which roads will reopen. Runners falling behind this pace may be asked to withdraw.

Participant Details

All finishers receive a medal. Water is provided at the finish line. There will be awards for the top three female and top three male finishers, plus 14 age group winners (seven female and seven male).
