Oswestry 10k Run

The Oswestry 10k is a road running event held in Oswestry, Shropshire on Sunday 11th October 2026. The event centre and race HQ are at Smithfield Street, Oswestry, SY11 2EG. The entry attracts a mix of first-time runners and competitive athletes. Participants receive a finishers medal on completion.

Course and race format

The event is a 10k one-lap race on mainly town roads. The route is undulating with a scenic section towards the end. The course follows Church Street, Morda Road, Nant Lane, Trefonen Road, Oswestry Road, Upper Brook Street and returns to Church Street. Roads are fully closed for the event for runner safety.

Logistics, safety and prizes

A race village and help desk are located near the start and finish, within walking distance of town car parks, shops, cafés and a local park. Suggested parking locations include Bailey Head car park SY11 1PZ and Salop Road Central Car Park SY11 2NR. The event has a 90 minute race cut-off; roads reopen in line with this pace and slower runners may be asked to withdraw for safety. Spectators are asked to follow marshal instructions and remain off the course until runners have passed. Prizes are awarded to the top three male and top three female finishers, plus 14 age-group winners (seven female and seven male). The listed charity partner is Hope House.
