Event overview
The Pareto FM Shrewsbury Half Marathon and Metric Half Marathon take place at The West Mid Showground in Shrewsbury on Sunday 28 September 2025. Distances offered:
- Half Marathon (13.1 miles)
- Metric Half Marathon (8.1 miles)
The course passes town landmarks including the Welsh and English Bridge, Kingsland, Porthill, Coleham, The Quarry, Frankwell and the town centre with medieval buildings. The race is UKA licensed and the route is measured with chip-timed results.
Race details and logistics
Entries include a technical finisher t-shirt option, free official race photos, pacers, a bespoke metal medal, race treats and chip-timed results. There are two water stations on the route; half marathon runners pass each twice, metric runners pass each once. Pacers cover a range of target times - half marathon pacers run from 1:30 up to the 2:45 tail runner; metric pacers cover 1:00 to 1:30.
Participants must be at least 17 years old on race day. A cut-off time of 2 hours 45 minutes applies to the Half Marathon and 2 hours 20 minutes to the Metric Half. Transfers to other runners are accepted until 31 August 2025; there are no deferrals. Onsite parking is available at the showground with a £3 parking charge.
