Event overview
The Pareto FM Shrewsbury Half Marathon & Metric Half Marathon is scheduled for Sunday 27 September 2026 at The West Mid Showground, Berwick Road, Shrewsbury, SY1 2PF. Distances offered:
- 13.1 miles - Half Marathon
- about 8.1 miles (13.1 km) - Metric Half Marathon
Participants must be at least 17 years old on race day. Transfers to other runners are accepted; there are no deferrals.
Course and race services
Both races start and finish at The West Mid Showground and follow measured, chip-timed routes on a UKA licensed course. The route passes town centre landmarks including the Welsh and English Bridges, Kingsland, Porthill, Coleham, The Quarry and Frankwell. There are two water stations on the route; half marathon runners pass each station twice and metric half runners pass each once. The showground has 68 toilets spread across the site and onsite parking is available (a small parking charge applies to the showground charity).
Entries include a technical race souvenir t-shirt with male and female fit options, free official race photos, race treats at the finish, a bespoke metal finisher medal, pacers (half marathon and metric half pacing groups), and chip-timed results. Cut-off times are 2 hours 45 minutes for the Half Marathon and 2 hours 20 minutes for the Metric Half; runners must be able to complete the event within these times.
