Event overview
The Pareto FM Shrewsbury Half Marathon and Metric Half Marathon takes place on Sunday 27 September 2026 at the West Mid Showground, Berwick Road, Shrewsbury (SY1 2PF). Two race distances are offered:
- 13.1 miles (Half Marathon)
- 13.1 km (about 8.1 miles, Metric Half)
Both events start and finish at the West Mid Showground and use measured, chip-timed routes on UKA licensed courses. The route passes Shrewsbury town centre and riverside landmarks including the English and Welsh Bridges, Kingsland, Porthill, Coleham, The Quarry, Frankwell, and medieval areas of the town centre.
Race details
Entries include a technical race t-shirt (men’s or ladies fit option), free official race photos, pacers, a bespoke metal finisher’s medal, race treats at the finish, and onsite parking. Two water stations are located on the route; half marathon runners pass each twice, metric runners pass each once. There is an option to plant a tree instead of receiving a finisher’s t-shirt. Participants must be at least 17 years old on race day. The event enforces cut-off times: 2 hours 45 minutes for the Half Marathon and 2 hours 20 minutes for the Metric Half.
