The Pareto FM Shrewsbury Half Marathon & Metric Half Marathon 2026
The event takes place on 27th September 2026 at the West Mid Showground in Shrewsbury. Two race distances are offered:
- Half Marathon (13.1 miles / 21.1 km)
- Metric Half Marathon (13.1 km / 8.14 miles)
Entry includes a technical finisher's t-shirt (with fit options for men and women), a bespoke metal medal, free official race photos, and race treats at the finish. Participants have the option to plant a tree instead of receiving a t-shirt.
The route starts and finishes at the West Mid Showground. The course is designed to showcase areas of Shrewsbury, including the Welsh and English Bridges, Kingsland, Porthill, Coleham, The Quarry, Frankwell, and the town centre. The Metric Half Marathon route is described as picturesque, hugging the River Severn.
The event is UKA licenced and features chip timing. Pacers will be provided to help runners achieve target times. Onsite parking is available.
A strict cut-off time is enforced: 2 hours 45 minutes for the Half Marathon and 2 hours 20 minutes for the Metric Half Marathon. The minimum age requirement is 17 years on race day.
Transfers to other runners are accepted until 6th September 2026. There are no deferrals. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
