Pareto FM Shrewsbury Half Marathon and Metric Half Marathon 2027
The event offers two measured road races that start and finish at the West Mid Showground in Shrewsbury. The courses pass through the town centre and key riverside and neighbourhood areas, including the English and Welsh Bridges, The Quarry, Kingsland and Frankwell.
Distances:
- Half Marathon: 13.1 miles
- Metric Half Marathon: 13.1 km (about 8.1 miles)
Entries include a technical race souvenir t-shirt, a bespoke metal finisher medal, free official race photos, race treats at the finish and chip timed results on a UKA licenced, measured route. The half marathon entry also lists pacers to help participants aim for target times. Onsite parking is available and there is an option to plant a tree instead of receiving a finisher t-shirt.
Age requirements differ by race: participants must be at least 17 years old for the half marathon and at least 16 years old for the metric half. Transfers between runners are accepted until 23:59 on Sunday 29 August 2027; there are no deferrals for the half marathon.
Cut off times apply to ensure road reopening: 2 hours 45 minutes for the half marathon and 2 hours 20 minutes for the metric half. Runners must be able to complete their chosen event within these times. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
