Shrewsbury Half Marathon and Metric Half Marathon
The Shrewsbury Half Marathon and Metric Half Marathon take place on Sunday 27 September 2026. The events start and finish at The West Mid Showground in Shrewsbury and are organised by Shrewsbury Half Marathon Ltd.

- Metric Half Marathon 8.1 miles
The measured routes pass through town highlights including the Welsh and English Bridge, Kingsland, Porthill, Coleham, The Quarry, Frankwell and the town centre with its medieval buildings. Both races are chip timed on measured routes and run under a UKA licence.
Early bird entry fees are listed for each race and for affiliated and unaffiliated runners. Entries include a technical souvenir t-shirt with gender fit options, free official race photos, pacers, race treats at the finish, a bespoke metal finisher medal and the option to plant a tree instead of receiving a t-shirt.
Logistics and rules note a strict cut off time of 2 hours 45 minutes for the Half Marathon and 2 hours 20 minutes for the Metric Half. There are two water stations on the route; half marathon runners pass each twice and metric half runners pass each once. A bibtag timing system is used and competitors must complete medical details on the back of their bib and wear their bib to register a time.
