O'side Turkey Trot
The O'side Turkey Trot is a Thanksgiving morning running event in Oceanside, California, held on Thursday, November 26, 2026. The event uses a scenic beachside course that starts on North Coast Highway and finishes behind the amphitheater on the strand, featuring flat stretches, water views and ocean breezes.

The event offers race shirts, custom finisher medals, free race photos, chip timing with live results, and age group awards for local and open divisions. A main prize purse of $3,000 is provided with cash awards for top finishers and additional bonuses for the fastest local and new course records; runners must run the main 5K wave to qualify for prize money or bonuses. A Double Dip challenge awards a bonus medal to participants who complete both 5K waves.
Event features include a health and fitness expo with packet pick-up the day before and on race morning, a team competition that awards gift certificates to the largest teams, and a costume contest with prizes for the top three costumes. The event supports local nonprofits; the Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank is the primary beneficiary and a portion of registration fees is donated to selected charities.
