Event overview
The O’side Turkey Trot is a community running event in Oceanside, California, held on Thursday, November 27, 2025. The course runs along the beachside, starting on Coast Highway and finishing on the strand behind the amphitheater. The 5K course includes flat stretches, water views, and ocean breezes. The event includes live entertainment on course, a costume contest, finisher medals, and race shirts for registered participants.

There are two separate 5K waves and a "Double Dip" option for participants who run both 5Ks and earn a bonus medal. Age group awards are given to the top three male and female finishers across multiple age groups from 12 & under through 80+. Kids race awards cover specified age brackets for the 1 Mile and 1/5 Mile events.
A prize purse of $3,000 is available for overall top finishers, with cash awards for first through third places and additional bonuses for the fastest local runners and new course records. Prize money and bonuses require participation in the main 5K wave to qualify. The primary nonprofit beneficiary is the Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank. Ten percent of 5K registration fees are designated for selected charities; a $30 gift is described as providing a full Thanksgiving meal for a local family. Packet pick-up and an expo take place the day before at the Junior Seau Beach Community Center and on race morning at the Civic Center/Pier area.
