Event
The O’side Turkey Trot is a Thanksgiving morning road race held in Oceanside, California. In its 20th year, the event uses a beachside course that starts on Coast Highway and finishes near the Oceanside Pier Amphitheater on the strand. The course description notes flat stretches, water views and ocean breezes. The event has been recognized by Runner’s World and the Los Angeles Times and draws participants from many states and cities.

- Kids 1 Mile (ages 7-12)
- Kids 1/5 Mile (ages 6 and under)
The event runs two 5K waves and offers a "Double Dip" option for participants who complete both 5K waves. All registered participants receive a custom race shirt, a finisher medal, chip timing and live results. Free race photos, age-group awards, portable restrooms, aid stations with water, medical support and a gear check are provided. The event is stroller friendly (strollers are asked to start in the back) and dogs are not allowed on course. Parking options include free city lots on Thanksgiving morning and a complimentary parking shuttle from several designated lots.
Charity and awards
The O’side Turkey Trot benefits local charities, with the Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank listed as the primary nonprofit partner. A portion of registration fees is donated to selected beneficiaries, and the event reports more than $500,000 raised for local organizations over its history.
