Ormsary 10K
The Ormsary 10K is organised by Ormsary Social Club on the Ormsary Estate near Lochgilphead, Argyll. The event is a 10 km route that starts and finishes at Ormsary Hall (PA31 8PE) and takes participants around part of the estate.
The course is multi terrain and includes tar, dirt tracks, muddy and rough ground, with some hills. About 40 percent of the route is on public road (B8024), where runners should expect to meet traffic in both directions. Participants are asked not to wear headphones so they can hear traffic, other runners and marshal instructions. Marshals will signpost and supervise the course but will not stop traffic; runners must give way to vehicles and cross roads safely.
A single water station is provided around the halfway point. First aid cover will be available on the day. Car parking and toilets are available at Ormsary Hall.
Entries are priced at £27 and are non refundable. Numbers may not be transferred to other entrants. The organiser allocates places for running and walking; spaces are limited.
Prizes will be awarded to the first three male and female finishers and to the first local finisher. After the race participants receive a medal and complimentary soup and home baking; supporters may purchase refreshments for a small donation. Results are compiled without chip timing and will be published after the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
