Ormsary 10k
The Ormsary 10k is a multi-terrain running event organized by the Ormsary Social Club on the Ormsary Estate in Argyll. The course covers a variety of surfaces including tarmac, dirt tracks, muddy sections, and rough ground, featuring several uphill and downhill segments. The event is limited to a total of 100 participants.
The race starts and finishes at Ormsary Hall. The route begins with 2 miles on a public single-track tarmac road (B8024), where runners may encounter vehicle traffic. Participants then transition onto a muddy dirt track with a steep incline of approximately 500 yards before the path levels out for a 2.5-mile stretch. At the 4.5-mile mark, the course returns to a tarmac surface for a downhill section, concluding with a final half-mile on the B8024 back to the hall.

The course is signposted and marshalled, with one water station located near the halfway point. First aid support is present for the duration of the event. Due to the presence of traffic on open roads, the use of headphones is prohibited for safety reasons. Following the event, refreshments including soup, sandwiches, and home baking are provided for participants at Ormsary Hall. Facilities at the hall include car parking, toilets, and registration areas. Prizes are awarded to the top three male and female finishers, as well as the first local runner.
