The event is based in the heart of Argyll and uses the refurbished 20m MAC pool for the swim. The cycle route passes the Mhoine Mhor national nature reserve and goes past Dunadd hill fort. The run follows the Crinan Canal. The course is described as accessible and flat and the event is supported and marshalled by the local community.
Triathlon distances
- 500 m swim

The aquathlon consists of a 500 m pool swim followed by a 2.5 km run on the flat Crinan Canal. There is no cycling component for the aquathlon so entrants require only swim goggles and running shoes. Entry rules include minimum ages: individual entries 17 years at 31 December 2026, aquathlon from 15 years, and team entries by three people with specified minimum ages per discipline. Parental consent is required for entrants under 18 because parts of the event use open roads. Entries run until full with a reserve list; entries on the day may incur a surcharge. Refunds and deferrals are not offered and entries are non transferable. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
