ORCMA Spring Classic 5K & Fun Run - Oak Ridge
The ORCMA Spring Classic 5K & Fun Run is a fundraising run presented by the Oak Ridge Civic Music Association at A.K. Bissell Park. This is the event's second annual edition. Participants may run, walk, or stroll while classical music is played along the route. Proceeds support ORCMA youth programs including the Free Family Concert and the Adolf Summer Strings Program. Participants are invited to wear costumes.
The 5K course consists of three 1.1 mile loops, slightly over 3.2 miles, using crushed limestone and paved pathways in and around Bissell Park. The Fun Run covers one loop. Parking is available at the Civic Center next to the park or at the Public Library. Restrooms are inside the Civic Center and portable toilets are available outside. Attendees are advised to allow extra time for parking because of concurrent activities near the recreation center and a flea market across the turnpike at the high school.
Event distances:
- 5K Run/Walk
- Fun Run Mile
All participants receive a custom race shirt while supplies last and a swag bag. Medals and prizes will be awarded to top finishers and for best costume. Pre and post event refreshments include coffee from Calamity's Coffee, hot cocoa, and donuts from Donut Palace. Race results will be posted on the event page after completion. Updates about inclement weather will be posted on the registration page. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
