Operation Changing Lives 5K Run and Walk
The Operation Changing Lives 5K Run and Walk is an annual athletic event held in Ponce Inlet, Florida. This 18th edition of the race benefits a non-profit organization comprised of medical professionals who volunteer to perform reconstructive surgeries for individuals with facial disfigurements. The event takes place at the Ponce Inlet Lighthouse, located at 4931 S Peninsula Dr.
The event features the following distances:
- 3.1 Miles (5K Run and Walk)
- Kiddie Dash
Participants receive professional timing services provided by Runner's High Timing and Race Management LLC. Each runner is issued a bib number with a disposable electronic chip for scoring. Results are made available both on-site and online immediately following the race, and participants can check their individual times by scanning a QR code located on their race bib.
Handmade awards are presented to the overall male and female winners, as well as the top three finishers in various age categories ranging from 9 and under to over 90 years old. Amenities for the event include after-race refreshments and race shirts, though shirts and packets are not guaranteed for those who register late. Packet pickup is available on the day before the race at a local running store in Daytona Beach or at the race site on the morning of the event.
