Halifax Health - Hospice 5K Run and Walk
The Halifax Health - Hospice 5K Run and Walk is a community event held in Port Orange, Florida. This event marks the 25th anniversary of the race, which serves as a fundraiser for the Halifax Health - Hospice Family Caregiver Program. This program is a vital part of the organization, which has provided end-of-life care to the community for 47 years.
Participants can choose from several registration options:
- 5K Run and Walk
- Virtual 5K Run and Walk
- Non-Runner Supporter
The in-person course is located at the Port Orange City Center Circle. For those participating in the virtual event, results of the 3.1-mile distance can be timed individually using a stopwatch or phone and submitted online through the registration portal. Awards are presented to the top three overall male and female finishers, as well as to the top three in various age categories ranging from under 9 to over 80 years old.
Packet pickup is organized at the Lakeside Community Center on the day before the event and on the morning of the race. Due to the fundraising nature of the event, no refunds are available for registration fees. The event also maintains a partnership with the We Honor Veterans program to support the specific needs of veterans and their families during end-of-life care.
