Event Overview
The Omni Turkey Trot is a running and walking event held at the Omni Amelia Island Resort & Spa in Fernandina Beach, Florida. The course starts and finishes at the Racquet Park area, situated near the Verandah restaurant. Participants follow a scenic route that meanders through the resort's gated grounds under a canopy of trees.
The event features the following distances:
- 3.1 Miles (5K)
- 1 Mile Kids Fun Run
The 3.1 Miles race is electronically timed using disposable transponder chips attached to the participant bibs. Runners and walkers are both permitted on the course. While strollers are allowed, participants with strollers are asked to position themselves at the back of the starting group. For safety reasons, animals and bicycles are not permitted on the course.
The event provides a water station along the route and additional water at the finish line. Medical professionals are available at the start and finish locations to provide assistance if needed. A portion of the event proceeds is donated to the First Coast YMCA.
Participants can choose from various registration options, including chip-timed entries with or without event merchandise. Packet pickup is available the day before the event at the Racquet Park conference room or on the morning of the race at the event site. Awards are presented to the top overall male and female finishers, as well as the top three finishers in various age categories ranging from 10 and under to 85 and older.
